Some Different Beer Cans
Various collectible beer cans.
"Billy Beer" Beer Can
This is a can of "Billy Beer". The idea of Falls City Brewing Co., start a new national label beer using the brother of the president of the United States to give it a name and promote it. Yes, Billy Carter, redneck brother of then President Jimmy Carter, the Georgia peanut farmer. Written on the can was "Brewed expressly for and with the personal approval of one of America's all-time great beer drinkers - Billy Carter" and Billy's endorsement of "I had this beer brewed just for me. I think it's the best I've ever tasted. And I've tasted a lot. I think you'll like it, too." It did work for awhile, getting big sales initially. In a Simpson's episode, after taking a swig of Billy Beer, Homer Simpson quipped "we elected the wrong Carter". Made from 1976-1978. Brewed under license by other breweries, this particular can was brewed by Falls City Brewery. Not worth any real money and I never tasted it, but it brings back memories of why Reagan won the next election in a landslide.
Harley-Davidson "Heavy Beer" Beer Can
This is a Harley-Davidson "Heavy Beer" beer can from the 1988 Daytona Week motorcycle festival. This beer was "Wisconsin brewed in limited quantity using only the finest ingredients available to provide a most satisfying taste"... and that's all I have to say about that! Filled and brewed by Jos. Huber Brewing Co. Monroe, WI. It's an Official Licensed Product of the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Company.
