This is an old Bovril bottle. Bovril is an English beef extract... Mmmm, beef extract! Never had it, I think it's for flavoring soups and such. The bottle is interesting in that the seams are located in the corners, diagonal from each other. It's a nice caramel color and displays well. Again, this is a very common bottle to find. I think this dates to the 1930's. The front and back have raised lettering that reads "2oz. Bovril Limited" with one side having an addition of "238" under the Limited. The bottom has raised lettering that reads "Bottle made in England" around the edge with "By FGC" in the center. FGC stand for Forsters Glass Company Ltd. that was in Lancashire, England. This was dug up in the mid 1970's.
