WWII US M4 Bayonet and M8A1 Scabbard. These were made for the M1 Carbine. They appeared late in the war and since the carbine with the bayonet lug took even longer to appear, few got used as intended before the war ended. I believe they were still handed out as the M3 trench knife were. This bayonet was made by the Kinfolks Co. It has a parkerized blade. This is an early Kinfolks example, probably 1944, as the leather handle has the 6 grooves close together. The scabbard was made by the Beckwith Manufacturing Co./Victory Plastics and retains it's original leather leg tie.
