This is a Type 30 bayonet for the WWII Japanese Arisaka rifle. It is a fairly late one with minimal finishing, crude grips and plain straight guard. There are no markings on it that I can see. It is 20" in length and fits the Arisaka Type 99 rifle. It should fit the other Japanese rifles of the era as well. The Japanese were cutting a lot of corners towards the end of the war to get weapons to the military and this is what they got, if they were lucky to get anything. This is one of those "last ditch" efforts. I'm not sure how this came into the family, but we've had it since the 1950's.
