This is a Spiralite Macrovar variable close-up lens. It attaches to your camera's lens by screwing into the filter threads. It has the reproduction ratio engraved on the side which is accurate when you adjust the main lens to a 2' focusing distance. Basically it turns any lens into a decent close-up lens.
