Smiths Industries Timer Model QLR 500

This is a Smiths Industries Timecal 5 hour timer, Model QLR 500. It has a plastic body, dial and knob and a metal timing mechanism. I believe this dates to the late 1970's thru the 1980's. It is stamped "Made in Great Britain", but the box is more specific to say "Made in England", so it was produced in the home market by Smiths. All my British bikes have Smiths guages and so did most cars and trucks. This is a five hour, long ring timer. It has a regular 60 minute dial face with a small window at the 12 o'clock position. To time an interval longer than an hour, you just spin the knob past the 60 minute mark the number of times needed up to a full 5 hours. Each time you pass the 60 minute mark, an indicator in the small window shows anywhere from 0 thru 5 to indicate the hour.
